I grew up very close to my Metis Grandmother. She had a great influence on me and how I viewed the world. This is why I always felt very connected to his Metis heritage. To be Metis is to sense the in-between.
The Metis series began after the sudden loss of my younger brother Greg in 2012. These Metis poem pieces are a hieroglyphic script, a beginning of a language. Metis poems are a lost primitive language, a place where words are felt and not spoken.
